NVQ Level 2 Driving Goods Apprenticeships

A Government funded Level 2 Driving Goods Vehicle Qualification.

As a driver in the logistics sector you are required to not only, load, carry and deliver your goods, but you will be also responsible for the fuel efficiency and safety while using the vehicle. As part of the development this fully funded driving programme will provide you with the opportunity for you to gain a NVQ Qualification.

 

Duration: Driving Goods course will take around 12 to 14 months to complete. You will be required to see your course assessor once a month.  Once a month you will be required to demonstrate to the assessor the skills you have learnt.

 

Location: All training will be provided at our premises. There will be no requirement for you to travel to a training venue unless this is agreed with before hand.

 

Apprenticeship Summary

 

The Level 2 Certificate in Driving Goods Vehicles (QCF) gives learners the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and knowledge to the standard of professionalism required by the Logistics sector. It requires learners to demonstrate competence in not just driving correctly but also, preparing a vehicle and loading and unloading. It also includes wider competencies such as contributing to customer service, dealing with payment transactions and planning routes and timings in logistics operations.

 

The Level 2 Certificate in Driving Goods Vehicles is aimed at individuals who are working as drivers of vans, rigid vehicles, and will look to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills within this role resulting in the achievement of a nationally recognised qualification that confirms their occupational competence to complete this role to a high standard.

  • Functional Skills Maths Level 1
  • Functional Skills English Level 1

 

Van Driver Pathway

This pathway has five mandatory units with a choice of options from 4 groups. The minimum credit value required to achieve the qualification is 29.

Mandatory Units All units in this group must be achieved. The credit value is 13.
